We've had so many letters lately from Knit Today readers who are knitting anything from bootees to cardis for new little babies in their families, or even for local premature baby charities. It doesn’t seem to matter whether they’re new or experienced knitters – everyone loves working with the soft yarn and tiny designs in baby books! I just knitted a pair of bootees with little rolled tops for a friend’s new baby, and used Sirdar Snuggly Baby Bamboo – it’s a machine washable yarn, which is a must for baby items, and so very soft. I made the bootees to fit a six-month old, and didn’t even finish the ball of yarn I was using, so I now have a very good use for all the random yarns that have crept into my stash!
