If you knit more items than you could possibly find a use for, and reckon your stitching is up to a pretty good standard, I may have found an excellent money spinner for you. Stitch London runs a Stitch Squadron - basically, it’s a group of knitters available to take on commissions from people looking for particular knitted items in return for cold hard cash!

Stitched Selves on display!

You might remember our art ed, Claire Watkins, posted a blog a while back about a project being run by Stitch London with the Science Museum, which aimed to create a display of lots of mini ‘yous’.

If you’ve been following the football over in South Africa, you’ll know it’s currently their winter with temperatures at night getting very low indeed, and for underpriviliged children the weather can be dangerously cold.

Do you remember Mark Fast, the knitwear designer who caused controversy at the beginning of this year when he chose size 14 models to wear his unusual knitwear creations at London Fashion Week? Well, he’s just launched a new collection at Topshop, and I love it!

World Wide Knit in Public Day is coming up, from June 12 to 20 (if you’re organising an event, you can pick the day that works best for your community). The aim of the day is pretty self-explanatory - to get out there and knit in a public place!

I Knit, the London-based knitting shop and group, is hosting a competition to promote knitting design talent.
