I have just joined Knit Today, but I have been looking through some websites for Charity Knitting and I have found www.knit-a-square.com and on this website is quite a lot of info about blankets, vests etc. Perhaps this might help you.

The Kids company in London have just opened a mother and toddler unit and are always in need of baby cardigans etc.I also knit scarves and mittens for their Wrap up a kiddie campaign.Just google for their address.
