help with collar knitting from issue 69

Postby mazz » Sat Mar 03, 2012 12:25 pm

Hi all
I am knitting the cardi from issue 69 and am stuck on the collar. its says to rib to last 2 sts, turn.
the next rown says sl1 rib to last 2, turn.
this is for 10 rows and the rows11-18 are sl1 rib to last 4 sts, turn
rows 19-24 sl1 rib to last 6 sts, turn
rows 25-28 sl1 rib to last 8 sts, turn.

i do this and it leaves holes at rows 11, 19 and 25.
how do i knit this so the holes are not there. I am a relative newbie to knitting and cant understand how to knit this collar.
Any help, tips or suggestions would be welcome. please help. what am I doing wrong?

Thanks
mazz

What are you doing when you slip a stitch?

Are you doint it correctly ie simply moving the stitch from one needle to the next without kniting or purling it?

Hi
I just slip the stitch onto the left needle without knitting or purling it. Is that right? Pattern didn't say to do anything with that stitch...
