issue 72 hot pink top! help!!

Postby Anastasia55555 » Fri Jul 06, 2012 11:30 am

Hello, I'm having real trouble with finishing this garment! Back done fine, front started, left front done and have cast off, now I'm stuck on the right front! Slipped off centre stitch on to safety pin and then when I knit the next row it seems that the right and wrong said have flipped over :-/ is some one able to run through in very simple terms what to do after slipping centre stitch :-)

Thank you in advance!

Dear Anastasia:

After you slipped your center stitch onto a safety pin, it appears that Row Ten should have been a purl row, not a knit row. When you look back at your Front directions, Row Nine was a knit row, and then you worked the Left Front. Good luck with your top.

I had a problem with this pattern as well. I have been knitting the fourth size so I have been following the size that was printed in orange. When I went to sew it up ready to do the neckband one side of the back cast off was wider than the other, so I read the details again very carefully.
I had 121 stitches on the needle, which was correct from where the increases took place after the ribbing.
Yet the instructions given for shaping the shoulders told me to:
Cast off 39 sts at the beginning of the next two rows (which makes 78 in total) and slip the remaining 61 sts onto a spare needle - that makes a total of 139 to me, which just happens to coincide with the number of rows that had been knitted.
Has anyone else noticed this or was it just this size that there was an error.

I'm afraid I've given up on it, makes me want to scream just looking at it! Think I might undo it and use the yarn for something else!!
