'Using 3.5mm needles, cast on 14 sts. Row 1: K2,*P1,K2 to end. Row 2: P2, *K1,P2 to end. Repeat these rows twice more. Working in rib, increase 1 st on first & second to last sts. Work in rib for 4 rows more. Cast off. Make 2.
Icing: Pick up 14sts from WS of one cupcake case & knit one row. Work 5 more rows in st st. K2tog at each end of every row down to 6 sts. P2tog 3 times. Cast off. Repeat for other cake case.
Cherry: Using 3mm crochet hook, make 2ch. Work 5 dc into the 2nd ch from the hook. Slip stitch to first dc. 1ch, 2dc into each dc. Slip stich to ch.'
It suggests random stitches on the icing to look like hundreds & thousands, but I'm sure you have your own cake decorating ideas.
