Issue 68 soft as snow cushion

Postby sophsoph » Wed Jan 18, 2012 7:23 pm

I haven't got to the end of this cushion yet but is another 40cm of st st after the patterned side of cushion too much? Does that mean it will be 2 layers of st st in yarn A for the most part, kind of like an envelope design? If so, when sewing up the sides should I do 1 layer of the back stitched to the front, then the other stitched to the front over the top of this, or the other layer stitched to the first layer? It doesn't look like this in the picture, it looks like the back is mainly one layer (knitted first in the pattern) with a small flap over the top end for the buttons.

Hi, did you get a reply to Soft as Snow as I have now got to the stage after the pattern of knitting another 40cm which does not seem right to me? :)

Hi - I'm at that stage in the cushion too - the extra 40cm does not seem right. What did you do?

Sorry girls, I can't help, but I posted a query about another cushion pattern weeks ago and never had it resolved. Hope you have more luck. Chrissie

Hi There,
I'm also knitting this pattern and am having a little trouble which i need help with. I'm currently on the squares of cable and intarsia, following the pattern it would appear there is a gap between the 2 squares, the pattern shows them joined together.... How do i join them together without sewing it separately? The reason why i'm asking as they are 2 different colours and don't seem to interact with each other at any point.
I'm still learning the additional techniques so apologise for sounding a bit daft. Thank you for any help given.
