Cute Cables Knitting Bag Issue 73

Postby littlewoollies » Tue Jun 12, 2012 11:36 am

Hi I am new to this forum and wonder if someone can help me.
I am trying to knit Helen Ardley Cute Cables Bag and the pattern seems to be wrong. Has anyone knitted this bag or could one of the team help me. I have followed the instructions but I end up with a number of rows before I do the cable row. It looks nothing like the picture in the book.
Thank you.

Looking at it you should on have knitted 8 rows before the cable knitting begins. How much have you done? Keep at it. It will come together. You can't always see if the cable looks right until you have knitted on further xx

Hi Lisalooby.

Thank you for your reply. It says in the Patt Row 1 xyz Row 2 Xyz Repeat last two rows three times which by then I would have knitted 8 rows. Then it says Row 7 which really should read Row 9.

If you then repeat Rows 1-2 eight more times that 16 Rows in total. Then it says As Row 7.

I just realised my mistake as I was typing this. I didn't treat it has the cable row. I continued doing row 1-2.

Thank you so much.

I hope it helped. I'm knitting the cut cardi in the magazine that the bag book came with and have fought with it a lot haha. Is it beginning to look as it should now that you have knitted on a bit further?
