Why bother with shoes and socks, when you can have both together? These pretty little pram shoes are much easier to knit than you might think – the shoe and sock combination may look complicated, but it’s actually a very simple pattern. The main part of the shoe is worked in one piece in stocking stitch, with a seam at the back and on the sole. The small strap is knitted separately and will take mere minutes to make. You can easily complete these in a day, so they’re a perfect project for a weekend! They’re from Freedom Sincere pattern book 460, and are knitted in Freedom Sincere, which is a 100% organic cotton yarn. It’s available in a range of contemporary pastels – if you want your booties to look the same as this pair, buy one 50g ball in Snowdrop, shade 600, and another in Raspberry, shade 606. The yarn is environmentally-friendly, grown without pesticides in chemical-free soil. It’s a sensitive choice for any projects you want to make for babies and children, and is machine-washable.
