Why exbats need these

Battery Hens are kept in very close confinement with no stimulation, as a result they pull their feathers out. When rescues get these unfortunate souls, they're ALWAYS semi bald, and in a complete state! For example, I just went to one rescues site and pulled a picture of her latest arrivals http://www.happychicks.co.uk/mall/Happychicksshop/customerimages/ExBatte...

I'm not sure where you would send these, but the little hen rescue currently has a campaign for these, with that exact same picture http://littlehenrescue.co.uk/jumpers.aspx
You could also try british hens welfare trust http://www.bhwt.org.uk/ which is where we got our ex bats from
And happychicks http://www.happychicks.co.uk as they had a picture of chickens wearing little jackets.

Thanks for providing me with good ideas to put to the youth members of my local church to see whether I can inspire them to learn to knit or knit for people or animals less fortunate than themselves.

I believe you should add a sentence or two explaining why they need jackets and where to send the completed Chux Tux.  My grandmother's chickens go outside in all weathers and seem to love the snow.
