They’re worked in Artesano 100% Alpaca DK, which comes in a choice of 21 colours, including Peru (red) and Ecuador (yellow), which are used to make these mittens. It’s interchangeable with Artesano Hummingbird DK, so if you’d prefer your mittens to be stripy, use this instead. Alpaca is one of the softest and warmest yarns available, so you’ll want to wear these cosy mittens even on the coldest days of winter. Alpaca is also less likely to pill than other fibres and is naturally flame retardant and water repellent, too! Once you’ve knitted your gloves you can then put them in the washing machine and watch them transform from standard knitting into irresistible felt. This pattern is priced around £2.20.
