Making sweaters, toys, blankets and accessories for kids is so much fun because it gives knitters and crocheters a chance to play around with their colour and design skills. They can be super cute, dainty and demure, multicoloured or sweet and simple – so they're never boring – and kids will want to cherish their handmade gifts as special heirlooms for years to come. We want to see what you’ve made for the children you know – have you knitted the most adorable teddy bear or sweetest cardi ever, or crocheted the cosiest blanket? Tell us all about it to win a pair of tickets to a fun craft show this autumn!

The prize

Creative Stitches, Hobbycrafts, Art Materials, Crafts for Christmas and Cake International are red letter events in the crafting world, and you can win a pair of tickets to whichever one you like! You’ll be inspired by a variety of exhibitors and demonstrators, finding unique items and ideas to bring into your knitting and other hobbies. Let us know which one of these shows you’d like to attend:

• Creative Stitches & Hobbycrafts at the Westpoint Centre in Exeter, taking place from 23-26 September
• Crafts for Christmas & Hobbycrafts at the SECC in Glasgow, taking place from 28-31 October
• Crafts for Christmas, Hobbycrafts & Art Materials at the NEC in Birmingham, taking place from 4-7 November
• Cake International at the NEC in Birmingham, taking place from 5-7 November

Send us a letter about the kids’ knits you’ve made, along with photos, to Kids' knits competition, Knit Today 49, 9th Floor, Tower House, Fairfax St, Bristol BS1 3BN or email knittoday@originpublishing.co.uk The closing date is 7 September 2010. 

Competition rules

Prizes will be dispatched within 28 days of judging. There are no cash alternatives. Employees of Origin Publishing and contributing companies are not allowed to enter. The judges’ decision is final.
